It is produced by smelting chromite, an iron-magnesium-chromium oxide, in electric arc furnaces. The primary purpose of Ferro Chrome is to introduce chromium into steel, giving it a range of desirable properties, including corrosion resistance, hardness, and durability.

There are two Variants of Ferro Chrome

Low Carbon Silico Manganese

Composition:
Carbon Content: 0.03-0.15%
Chromium Content: 60-75%
Ideal for applications requiring minimal carbon contamination
Used in producing specialty steels and alloys

High Carbon Silico Manganese

Composition:
Carbon Content: 4-8%
Chromium Content: 60-70%
Enhances hardness and wear resistance
Used in the production of high-strength and wear-resistant steel
